The Frame is made of metal and has a dual stake to ensure stability in the ground. The flower is polyresin and feels very durable. It comes with a pre-charged battery so all you have to do is take it out of the box and flip the switch to "OFF/Auto" switch to "Auto". Bought this for my mother and she absolutely loves it. It lights up her rose garden at night and we have had absolutely no problems with this one.
UPDATE: Several months later the bloom is off the rose, which is why I changed my review to four stars. Well, actually the color is starting to fade on the item, but it still lights up every night.

I bought these for mother's day gifts for daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughter. Was very happy with the product and receivers loved it also. It is very pretty, glows for a long time at night, easy to put together and the price was excellent.
