Customer Reviews

I am very big on solar power and besides having a major system for my home, I have various solar lights of all kinds outside. When I purchased a Lifetime 6446 shed, which is 8 x 15, and saw that they sell an easily installed solar light on the web site, of course, I purchased two. Considering that there is a reasonably sized solar panel on these things, two batteries, and 6 LED's, THESE ARE ABOUT THE DIMMEST SOLAR LIGHTS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED. The picture of a shed with an open door and the light on at night in the product ad is a joke as I'd say the light in that picture is 5 times brighter than the real thing. I might have concluded that mine was defective, but both put out identically dim light. I also took out the batteries and charged them in a charger, but to no avail. It's just enough light to be sure you will not trip on something and that is all. Also, the wire has a small D/C plug so you can take the light apart to put the panel on the roof and screw the light back together. Like many of these small plugs, the wiring is fragile and after stretching it only once to use the longer mount provided, the connection is now broken unless I twist the plug just the right way. I'd have to take it apart again and solder it to make it really right.
I would have returned these lights except that I put a dab of caulk on the roof mount gasket to assure a leak-proof seal at the roof. In any case, as I have AC power in my shed, I just purchased a plug-in LED light to get some real, usable light in the shed. At least the whole house solar system will power that one. I gave it more than one star for its elegant design and perhaps some want no more light than enough to prevent tripping on something. You can use it just to take something from the shed, but not to do anything much in there.

This light never worked for me. It says that it will function in just a little sun, but mine never did. It is extremely dim and the battery...when it did work...never lasted more than 10 - 15 minutes
